Helpful Hints/General Reminders

Once enrollment is completed:

*  Register as a member on the UHC and Principal websites.

*  Look up the nearest in-network Urgent Care and Emergency Facility near you (best to know where to go before a crisis occurs).

* Verify providers/facilitates are contracted with the appropriate network before scheduling appointments.  Ask providers/facilities if they are contracted with UHC. Because your plans offer out-of-network coverage, a provider will be able to accept the insurance.

*If referred to a specialist, always verify that the specialist is contracted with the network.  When asking a provider if they are contracted, be specific with the network: Choice Plus

Services rendered outside the network may not be covered or will be subject to a higher deductible, coinsurance and out-of-pocket maximum.

Before you need the Virtual Visits telehealth program, be sure to register and complete your medical history online.  This will save time when you call the first time.

Match up the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to the provider bill.  In the event of a discrepancy, follow the amount the EOB states is your responsibility. Need help on a claim or have questions on an EOB?
